Your computer connects to our server in Singapore. Our servers pass your data on to our server in London, which makes the final connection to your broker.

In a straight line, Singapore to London is about 10,850 km. Going there and back takes at least 108 ms. That is physics, and no proxy can go below it.

01 · Every city

Is your broker’s city here? Our server there connects to your broker.

Pick the one your broker is in. You can switch your broker’s city in your dashboard, so a wrong guess is easy to fix. Your four values stay the same when you do.

02 · Picking your city

Not sure which city your broker is in? Start with a guess.

  1. 01

Ask your broker, or take a guess

Your broker’s support team can tell you which city the servers that take your orders are in. If you can’t find out, make your best guess.

  2. 02

Choose your broker’s city in your dashboard

Press Change your broker’s city, pick the city and press its Use button, such as Use London. Your four values point to the server you connect to, so you paste them into your platform once. Choosing your broker’s city never changes them.

  3. 03

Switch later if you need to

A new broker’s city applies the next time your platform connects, so restart it to switch straight away. Your values stay the same. We never move you to another city without asking.

  4. 04

Time your platform with and without us

Time how long your platform takes to connect and show live prices, first without us and then with us. Try another city if you want to compare. Your own numbers then tell you which city to keep.

Your broker sees one steady address, whatever network you use.

Moving from Wi-Fi to a hotspot keeps our server’s shared address, unless you switch city or a server is replaced. If our server in your broker’s city can’t be reached, your platform shows an error. Your dashboard then asks before using another city.

Trading from Asia with a broker in London or New York?

Pick the city of ours you connect to, and your broker’s city as usual. Data lost before that first city is then sent again over the short trip there and back, not all the way to your broker. Trading from Asia, or on the move →

Check your broker’s terms

If your broker prohibits proxies, don’t use one. If none of these cities is your broker’s, Traders Proxy is a weaker fit. Time your platform with and without us, then decide.

03 · Distance

The farther your broker, the longer every wait.

Light in a cable sets a speed limit, so longer distances mean longer waits. These three facts show where your order loses time, and what we can change.

The maths in briefPhysics, not our measurement
  1. 01

Your broker’s distance sets a minimum time for every order

Light in a cable travels about 200 km every millisecond. Your order goes there and back, so every 1,000 km adds at least 10 ms.

What it means for youPhysical distance dictates your latency floor. Fibre travel times remain constant regardless of routing tools.

minimum there and back (ms) = distance (km) ÷ 100

  2. 02

One lost piece of data makes everything wait

When a packet drops, your platform pauses while requesting a retransmission across the full distance. Consecutive drops double this waiting penalty. Incoming price ticks stall during the exact seconds volatility peaks.

    wait 1× → 2× → 4× → 8×

  3. 03

Our server in your broker’s city recovers lost data locally

Our server in your broker’s city opens the final connection to your broker. On a quiet connection, a repeat loss doesn’t double the wait.

What it means for youWhen a piece is lost near your broker, our server recovers lost data inside that city instead of from your computer.

distance set by physics · recovery in your broker’s city is ours

We don’t promise lower ping because distance sets the minimum. Local recovery in your broker’s city covers only the connection between our server and your broker. The repeat-loss fix covers the first few tries on a quiet connection, after the first repeat try.

04 · Verified forum reports

What happens when your platform connects to the wrong city, and how we solve it.

Every quote below links to the forum thread or vendor guide where it appeared. Underneath each quote, see which parts of our system work together on it and where our server stops.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Avoids by design

MQL5 VPS location can't be chosen and its ping 'jumped'

“Please don't mix up your concepts. 2ms may be for the Ping response time, or in other words, the latency of the network communication. However, there is much more that the server has to do besides the network response”

How local trading avoids it. Pick a server city in your dashboard and switch whenever you like.

  • City switchingPrimary

Where it stops. Pick a server city in your dashboard and paste the new server value into your platform. Switching city changes the address your broker sees.

cTraderWhen not to use a proxy

cTrader picks a far or 'wrong' Spotware proxy and the trader cannot choose (Sydney-3, Netherlands, Jakarta-2, London-6 from Korea)

“For the moment we do not have plans to set up a datacenter in NY.”

Why a proxy can backfire here. cTrader for Windows has a proxy setting and Traders Proxy supports it over HTTP. cTrader still chooses its own servers.

  • Built-in HTTP proxy loginBoundary

Where it stops. In cTrader on Windows, the Connection proxy setting routes your connection to Spotware’s cloud. Spotware still picks its own cloud node on the far side.

Windows VPS & RoutingWhen not to use a proxy

Broker and firm rules on proxies, VPNs and shared addresses

“Do not use a VPN. VPNs, proxy services, TOR, geo-location obfuscation, and other identity-masking services are not permitted at Topstep.”

Why a proxy can backfire here. Your broker sees our server’s steady address in the city you pick. Check your broker’s or firm’s rules before connecting.

Where it stops. Check your broker’s or firm’s rules before using a proxy. If your broker prohibits proxies or shared addresses, do not use one.

Windows VPS & RoutingNot a proxy problem

EAs on several terminals or brokers with one rented terminal per account and a DLL ban

“If a program launched on a Virtual terminal tries to call a function from any DLL, this EX4/EX5 program is immediately stopped due to a critical error. Any DLL calls are forbidden.”

Why a proxy does not change this. Traders Proxy is for people who run their platform on their own computer. It does not run robots for you.

Where it stops. Does not run an EA while your computer is off. Not a hosting service.

TelegramNot a proxy problem

Telegram (trade-signal channels) blocked or throttled by an ISP, state or office firewall

“MTProxy allows users to circumvent internet censorship that restricts Telegram access in certain regions. It does so by masking Telegram's IP and obfuscating user traffic, making it significantly harder for ISPs and governments to detect outgoing connections pointing to Telegram servers.”

Why a proxy does not change this. Telegram in one tap on every plan. Telegram’s own proxy type is included on the 2-device and 5-device plans.

  • Telegram in one tapBoundary

Where it stops. Telegram in one tap on every plan, plus Telegram’s own proxy type on the 2-device and 5-device plans. A network that inspects traffic can still block it.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Solves

A firewall, router or ISP drops the platform's broker connection but lets ordinary web traffic through

“i get the same issue on another system on the same internet connection (wifi vs cabel). however, if i switch the isp (troubleshooting with mobile data actually) it seems to connect”

How our system handles it. Your platform connects to our server through its built-in SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy setting, and our server opens the broker connection from inside the datacenter.

  • Built-in SOCKS5 loginPrimary
  • Own separate connection to your brokerPrimary
  • Unanswered broker server gives up fast and reportsSupporting

Where it stops. Works only if your network still lets you reach our server. We cannot repair a faulty home router or an ISP outage.

cTraderReduces one factor

cTrader drops and re-logs in on a loop (Disconnected, Slow connection or Connection failed)

“Update: Dropouts seem to be entirely due to my wifi adaptor. When plugged direct into the router no problems.”

What our system reduces. Traders Proxy gives your platform its own route to its servers, which can help when your provider's route is the weak stretch. It does not fix your own Wi-Fi or router.

  • Dead connections found and freedPrimary
  • Straight back in after a dropSupporting
  • Short send queuesSupporting
  • Built-in HTTP proxy loginPrimary

Where it stops. Helps only when your provider’s route is the weak stretch. It does not fix Wi-Fi, router drops or Spotware faults, and cTrader uses HTTP only.

TelegramReduces one factor

Connecting Telegram when your network blocks direct access

“ProtonVPN, Surfshark, NordVPN”

What our system reduces. Telegram in one tap on every plan. Telegram’s own proxy type is included on the 2-device and 5-device plans.

  • Telegram in one tapPrimary

Where it stops. Telegram in one tap on every plan, plus Telegram’s own proxy type on the 2-device and 5-device plans. A network that inspects traffic can still block it.
