Trading proxy in Los Angeles
The short answer
Yes, our trading proxy has a server in Los Angeles. Choose Los Angeles as your broker’s city if your broker’s trade server is there, wherever you trade from. You connect to our nearest server, and our Los Angeles server opens a local connection to your broker.
Choose Los Angeles as your broker’s city if your broker’s trade server is there.
We have a server in Los Angeles. You connect to our server nearest you, and you choose your broker’s city in your dashboard. The software on our servers is our own, so no one else’s proxy sits between you and your broker.
Choose Los Angeles if your broker’s trade server is there. The server your platform logs in to when you place an order. That city matters most, because our help is on our server’s connection to your broker. If you also trade near Los Angeles, you connect to that same server.
Note. Brokers’ own pages don’t always say where your account is.
IC Markets states New York for MetaTrader 4 and 5, and Tickmill states London and New York. Neither names Los Angeles, so ask your broker’s support. We read both pages on 29 September 2026.
Our Los Angeles server recovers lost data inside Los Angeles.
Our server’s city matters when the internet loses part of your order. When you click Buy, your order crosses the internet to your broker as small pieces of data.
Sometimes the internet loses a piece. Your computer waits, then sends it again, all the way to your broker. If that copy is lost too, it waits twice as long.
Everything sent after it waits as well. In a busy moment, this is what delays price updates and holds up your next order.
Our server in Los Angeles opens a separate local connection to your broker’s trade server. If data drops on that link, our server recovers it inside Los Angeles. Trading ports go first when a server is busy, and broker addresses stay warm in memory.
Our server also keeps its waiting line for unsent data short, so your new order doesn’t queue behind older data.
Note. Our help covers one connection and doesn’t shorten the distance.
Your connection to our nearest server runs over your own internet, which we don’t change. Our help is on the link between our server and your broker.
If your broker is in another city, pick that city instead.
You can trade from Los Angeles and still pick any city on our list as your broker’s city. The distance to your broker sets the shortest time an order can take.
If you trade from Los Angeles, your broker in New York is about 3,940 km away in a straight line. An order then needs at least 39 milliseconds to reach your broker and get an answer back. No proxy, VPS or internet plan can beat that.
For a broker in Tokyo, about 8,820 km away, the minimum is 88 milliseconds. The farther your broker, the longer each recovery wait takes from your computer.
Pick your broker’s city so our server there recovers lost data inside that hub instead of from Los Angeles. Your data still travels the whole distance, so the physics floor stays the same. Paid plans also never share servers with free accounts.
If your broker’s trade server is in a city we don’t list, we have no server there. Traders Proxy is then a weaker fit.
Three steps set you up, with nothing to install.
These steps send your platform’s connection to your broker through our Los Angeles server.
- 01
Find your broker’s city
Open your platform’s login window. It shows the name of the server your account is on, but the name does not always say the city. Ask your broker’s support which city that server is in.
Our server location guide shows how to check.
- 02
Choose Los Angeles as your broker’s city
Open your dashboard and go to Connect. Under Your broker’s city, press Change your broker’s city. Choose Los Angeles, then press Use Los Angeles.
Your four values point to the server you connect to, so this choice never changes them. If that server isn’t the city nearest you, press Change the server you connect to first. That one changes the Server value.
- 03
Copy four values into your platform
Under Your values for your platform, copy the server, port, login and password into your platform’s proxy setting. Restart the platform so it connects through our servers.
The login and password are your Traders Proxy ones, not your broker’s, so we never ask for your broker login. Your broker sees the address of our Los Angeles server.
If you picked the wrong broker’s city, change it any time, and your four values stay the same. Restart your platform to use the new city straight away. We never move you to a different city without asking.
You can see whether it helps before you rely on it.
Time how long your platform takes to connect and show live prices, once without us and once with us. Our connection check shows how.
If the two times match, you don’t need us. The problem shows up in busy sessions, so the best time to compare is a big news release. Most weeks bring one.
Know these five limits before you pay.
- It does not change your ping, the time data takes there and back. We don’t promise lower ping. Distance sets the minimum. Be wary of anyone who promises it.
- It does not change your own internet. The connection from you to our server is only as good as your internet, so a weak Wi-Fi signal stays weak.
- It does not touch anything outside your trading app. Only the trading app you set up uses Traders Proxy. Everything else stays on your normal internet, so your plan’s data goes on trading.
- It does not change your broker’s rules. If your broker prohibits proxies, don’t use one. Check your broker’s terms before you start.
- It does not keep a platform running with your computer off. If an expert advisor must run while your computer is off, you need a VPS. See proxy or VPS compared.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be in Los Angeles to use the Los Angeles server?
No. Choose Los Angeles as your broker’s city if your broker’s trade server is there. You connect to our server nearest you, wherever you trade from.
Does a server in Los Angeles shorten the distance to my broker?
No. Distance sets the minimum, and no software beats it. Our server in Los Angeles opens a local connection to your broker and recovers lost data inside that city. So your order waits on a short local link, not the whole way from your computer.
Is Traders Proxy a VPS in Los Angeles?
No. A VPS moves your whole platform to another computer. We leave your platform where it is and only change where it connects. An expert advisor (EA) that must run while your computer is off needs a trading VPS.
Does my broker allow a proxy?
Check your broker’s terms. If your broker prohibits proxies, don’t use one. Traders Proxy doesn’t change what your broker allows.
Do I get my own IP address?
No. Your broker sees one steady address. That of our server in your broker’s city, shared with other Traders Proxy customers. It changes if you change your broker’s city or we replace a server.

A firewall, router or ISP drops the platform's broker connection but lets ordinary web traffic through
“Access to 443 ports is usually available in proxy servers.”
How our system handles it. Your platform connects to our server through its built-in SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy setting, and our server opens the broker connection from inside the datacenter.
- Built-in
SOCKS5loginPrimary - Own separate connection to your brokerPrimary
- Unanswered broker server gives up fast and reportsSupporting
Where it stops. Works only if your network still lets you reach our server. We cannot repair a faulty home router or an ISP outage.
Remote desktop is laggy on a Mac or a very wide screen (client-side rendering, not distance)
“The issue is with mouses faster than 125 Hz. My Corsair gaming mouse was over 800 Hz. I downloaded Corsair iCUE and lowered it to 125 Hz. Now RD Gateway connections work normally.”
How local trading avoids it. Your platform runs on your own computer, so there's no remote-desktop window to lag.
- Platform stays on your own computerPrimary
Where it stops. Needs a version of your platform that runs on your computer. Anything you still reach by remote desktop is as laggy as before.
cTrader picks a far or 'wrong' Spotware proxy and the trader cannot choose (Sydney-3, Netherlands, Jakarta-2, London-6 from Korea)
“Because my London VPS connects to Netherland proxy and my NY VPS connects to NY Proxy.”
Why a proxy can backfire here. cTrader for Windows has a proxy setting and Traders Proxy supports it over HTTP. cTrader still chooses its own servers.
- Built-in
HTTPproxy loginBoundary
Where it stops. In cTrader on Windows, the Connection proxy setting routes your connection to Spotware’s cloud. Spotware still picks its own cloud node on the far side.
Shared server address where a broker block affects every account on that server
“So, I tried swapping IPs and found that it worked normally.”
Why a proxy can backfire here. Your broker sees one steady address, our server’s, shared by people on a Traders Proxy plan in that city.
